Christof Sander is a designer, craftsman, and sculptor from Milwaukee.
Currently he is living in Chicago working for Studio K Creative, designing fixtures and furniture for boutique hotels, resorts, restaurants, and high end residential across North America.
Prior to Chicago, Sander was the Senior Furniture Designer at Malouf Companies based in Utah. While there, he worked with brand and product managers to design and develop in-house brand furniture lines and white-label furniture with the intention to be built overseas and sold though top online and box-box stores.
As former Head of Design for Scathain in Milwaukee, he designed custom furniture and fixtures for commercial, residential, and hospitality spaces, while developing Scathain's own furniture lines.
He is a graduate of Peck School of the Arts at the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee where he received his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Sculpture. While there he concentrated on creating functional objects and studied jewelry and metalsmithing techniques.
Sander has also worked as a foundry assistant at Wanner Sculpture Studio, during which time he has helped cast, chase, and finish bronze and aluminum sculptures and fixtures.
As an object maker and designer, his goal is to create that which catches both the eye and the curiosity of the viewer. His background in sculpture and metalsmithing help direct his detail oriented design. Sander's works have to do with letting the materials speak for themselves and the physical connection a person has when they interact with the object.
