Christof Sander is a designer, craftsman and sculptor from Milwaukee.
Currently, he is living in Utah working for Malouf Companies as their Senior Furniture Designer. There he designs furniture and products and works with brand managers and product managers to develop furniture that will be built overseas and sold on some of the top online retail stores and other national retail stores.
As former Head of Design for Scathain in Milwaukee, he designed custom furniture and fixtures for commercial, residential, and hospitality spaces, while developing Scathain's own furniture lines.
He is a graduate of Peck School of the Arts at the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee where he received his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Sculpture. While there he concentrated on creating functional objects and studied jewelry and metalsmithing techniques.
Sander has also worked as a foundry assistant and Wanner Sculpture Studio, during which time he has helped cast bronze and aluminum sculptures and fixtures.
As an object maker and designer, his goal is to create that which catches both the eye and the curiosity of the viewer. His background in sculpture and metalsmithing help direct his detail oriented design. Sander's works have to do with letting the materials speak for themselves and the physical connection a person has when they interact with the object.
